This is an open letter on behalf of the Sushi Bourbon Chicken Doughnuts marketing department: know that we were forced to release this shirt.
The design was shared by a low-level illustrator at a meeting several months ago, bringing great enthusiasm from several management figures and unilateral derision from the marketing, advertising, and outreach teams.
However after the meeting it seemed to disappear into obscurity, as more designs than not do in our rapid development process. This made those of us in SBCD outreach very happy.
A week ago the President and Spacepimp-for-Life of the company stumbled upon the design while digging through old files in his office, and immediately demanded we push out a product line featuring the Disco Avocado as fast as possible.
Amidst wild protestations from our and the marketing team against such action, he ultimately chose to produce the shirt, declaring it "the single finest condensation of our brand values and inspiration," and was later overheard calling it "as succinct a distillation of our trajectory as an enterprise as I could ever imagine seeing."
